Valparaiso Nazarene Church

Women's Ministry

Women's Ministries at Valparaiso Nazarene Church are designed to help women connect with one another and with God. Bible studies, small groups, and seasonal retreats all help to create the sense of community that every woman seeks. If you have questions about any of the Women's Ministries activities, contact Pam Anderson (pama@valponaz.org), our Director of Adult Education.

Ladies' Bible Studies
Spiritual growth does not just happen; it is not automatic with the passing of time. Spiritual growth is intentional. It requires commitment and effort.

One of the most important habits to establish in order to grow spiritually is the habit of studying God's Word. But it is not enough just to know the Word, we must internalize the Word; put it into practice.

VNC's Women's group studies help you learn within the context of Christian fellowship.
"As iron sharpens iron, so one [woman] sharpens another." Prov. 27:17

DVD Studies by such teachers as Beth Moore, Stormie O'Martian and Priscilla Shirer challenge us with written homework and lively class discussions.

Studies meet throughout the year on Wednesdays 9-11am and 6:30-8pm. Join us as we learn, absorb and live the Word of God.

Small Groups

M.O.P.S. ~ Mothers Of Preschoolers
MOPS International is a ministry that strives to meet the needs of every mom with children from birth to kindergarten. There are more than 3,900 MOPS groups meeting across the United States and in 35 countries around the world.

As a charter member of MOPS International, VNC provides a place where moms can share their successes, failures, questions and concerns; where each mom realizes she's not alone; and where life-long friendships are formed.

During the MOPS meetings, children are cared for in a program called Moppets, where they experience love in a pre-school-like setting.

Woman To Woman Mentoring
In God's economy nothing is wasted. Every "been there, done that" experience in our life equips us to help other women through similar circumstances in their lives. You do not need to be an expert, old or perfect to come alongside another woman and teach her to go to the Lord and His Word for all the answers. As a Mentor you can make a lasting mark on another woman's life.

If you would like another Christian woman to talk to; someone who has been in your shoes and with God's help made it through, then God may be nudging you to be a Mentee.
Whether you are a Mentor or a Mentee, you will discover that Woman To Woman Mentoring provides a two-way opportunity for you to grow in Christ and develop bonds of friendship that enrich your life.

Each Mentor and Mentee make a 6-month covenant to meet a minimum of twice a month.
To get started, plan to attend an Orientation Coffee. Contact Pam Anderson (pama@valponaz.org), our Director of Adult Education, or call 219.462.2751 to register for the next Orientation Coffee.

New mentoring groups will begin October 18, 1:00pm - 4:00pm, at Tamra Tanner's home.

Special Events & Seminars

Spring Retreat
When women get away together they naturally experience a wide range of emotions, laughter, tears, restoration and renewal. Annual retreats give us the opportunity to connect with God and with each other; time to reflect and to allow God to restore our hope.
