Unpacking the theme of NYC 2011 - A World Unbroken
At NYC 2011 students will engage in daily worship sessions (referred to
as “episodes”) that help give a foundation for the narrative of Christ.
Here is a glimpse of how students will be called to live A WORLD
UNBROKEN:
A WORLD UNBROKEN
is about students interactively existing within the narrative of the
Bible; inspiring them towards artistic creativity, genuine prayer and
real community. The experience will stretch students spiritually and
show them the restorative attributes of displaying a Christ-like love
to a broken and shattered world.
The
Goal is to lead students into a new rhythm of living—embodying a
lifestyle of justice, mercy, holiness, gentleness, perseverance,
kindness and love. The goal is that this rhythm would continue for the
rest of their lives. The dream is A WORLD UNBROKEN.
Within the CREATE
episode students will stand in awe of the Creator’s work and establish
a rhythm of cultivation and care as they accept their role as stewards
over the earth.
Within the BROKEN episode
students will grasp and mourn the separation caused by our rebellion
and embrace confession, not only personally but also corporately. They
will hone the skill of accepting mercy.
Within the PROMISE
episode students will learn what it means to be truly His no matter
what. They will examine God’s Covenant with His children and His
extreme faithfulness. PROMISE will speak of what is to come and what it means to listen for, wait for, and dream of His coming.
Within the PRESENCE
episode students will encounter the ministry of Jesus and learn to live
likewise—being intentional with time, living out the Beatitudes,
establishing a faith that heals, and practicing extreme sacrifice.
Within the SATISFIED
episode students will examine amazing grace—taking their place at the
table to feast and celebrate. They will wonder at the mystery of The
Spirit and encounter and embrace Shalom.
Within the MISSION
episode students will capture God’s vision for the Church and His
followers by living out justice and discipleship. They will encounter a
new and lifelong rhythm of preparation, restoration, and perseverance
until heaven comes to Earth.
Within the RESTORED
episode students will commit to silence and listening as their
prophetic imaginations form a dream of A World Unbroken. And once they
have learned to listen, God will show them how to lead.
