Serve: On-Going Needs
Would you like to serve on a consistent basis? Would you like to serve as a part of a team? VNC has many serve opportunities that will allow you to serve with a team of like minded servants on a weekly or monthly basis. Below are some positions that we currently need filled. If you find an area you are interested in, contact the person in charge of that area and they will send you more information.
Wednesday Night Shift 7.8
A weekly commitment on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm in the Youth Center to hang out and build relationships with 7th and 8th graders. Come and spend time with students through crazy games, hanging out at the concession stand, and learning about what God wants in our lives. Sunday Morning Shift 7.8
A weekly commitment on Sunday mornings at the 9:00 or 10:45 service to help with young teens in grades 7 and 8. Engage with kids as they learn about God through games and adult-led small groups (not as scary as it sounds). Lead them in a small group setting based on the lesson for the day at the end of class. Men's Shelter- Hospitality Time
VNC provides a place for the homeless men in our community to stay on Friday nights through the fall and winter months. If you are a man and you would like to help serve food and hang out with the men from New Creations Men's Shelter, sign up online. Select one of the three shifts: 6:00-10:00PM, 10:00PM-2:30AM or 2:30-7:00AM. The men will be staying in the VNC Gym.
Men's Shelter- Provide Food
VNC provides food for the homeless men in our community on Friday nights during the winter. If your family would like to provide food for the men from New Creations Men' Shelter, sign up online. You can bring a meal to the VNC Gym or you can use the VNC Kitchen to cook your meal. For more details take a look at the Food Preparation Guidelines and the Kitchen Usage Checklist.
World Cup Café
World Cup Café is in need of volunteers. We are looking for individuals who are 16 years old or older, have a passion for coffee and people, and are looking for a place to serve. All volunteers must complete a World Cup Café Training Session. The next training day will be March 12, from 10:00am-Noon. If you have already completed the training, you can sign up for a time to serve. If you have any additional questions, you can contact Ann Frump at annf@valponaz.org.
Club Wednesday Volunteers
Club Wednesday for K-4th Graders revolves around interest based classes designed for the kids to connect with loving adults and other kids their age. Every 5 weeks a new set of classes are offered and each week the grades rotate to a different class. We are looking for adults to teach and assist in a variety of classes for the kids. Classes range from art to cooking to gym to science experiments. All lessons and materials are provided. Contact Sally Wood (sallyw@valponaz.org) for more information.
Children's Registration Volunteers
On both Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings we are looking for friendly faces to welcome families by assisting them with the check-in process and directing them to where their children belong based on their ages. Contact Sally Wood (sallyw@valponaz.org) for more information.
K-4th Grade Shepherds
A weekly commitment on Sunday mornings at either service to help with children who are in K-4th grade. Engage with kids as they learn about God through singing, Bible stories, object lessons and games. Lead them in a small group setting based on the lesson for the day at the end of class. Mom to Mom Preschool Helpers
The Mom to Mom group is in need of helpers. Lesson plans and materials are provided. This is an opportunity to serve twice a month. Mom to Mom meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 9-11 a.m. Please contact Pam Anderson for more information at 462-2751 or pama@valponaz.org.
